Plush and Play’s logo, Yapu, is a cute and cuddly tarsier with big round eyes and a welcoming smile. The name is short for “Yakap Puno (Hug Tree)” as tarsiers are known to be natural tree-huggers but he has extended that definition and hugs just about everyone. Although tarsiers are known to be territorial, Yapu decided to travel the world to raise awareness about his fellow tarsiers. Yapu represents a collective idea of Philippine uniqueness and ingenuity that is also highlighted by the Plush and Play brand.

What are Plush and Play's products?

Because Plush and Play was born in the Gawad Kalinga Enchanted Farm, the first lines of products are fruits and vegetables, mostly grown in the farm. Names and stories are inspired by Filipino icons such as Manny Pakwan, Anne Kamatis, Jessica Saging, Buko Martin and so many other.

Over the years we created two new collections. One with cute, colorful, and friendly monsters that were created to highlight the location of the Enchanted Farm (Barangay Encanto – a local term for spirits, ghosts, and other folklore) such as Didi, Bubu, Kaka, Lulu, etc… Another one with sea creatures such as a starfish, an octupus, a jellyfish and a crab.

Aside from toys, Plush and Play produces key chains, pencil cases, bags, neck pillows, and a story book. The brand aims to create more collections and to expand the line of products that can provide useful, educational, and adorable items not just for children but also for teens and adults.

What materials are used to make the toys? Are they safe for kids?

Velboa cloth, craft felt fabric, and polyester fiberfill stuffing are used to create the toys. The plushies are soft and cuddly, and free of small parts that could be swallowed by younger kids. Moreover, Plush and Play products have passed the Intertek Toy Test, thus assuring their quality and safety.

How do I wash the toys clean?

Hand washing the toys with gentle and children safe soap and water, and letting them dry would be enough to keep the plush toys good as new!
