Founder | Board member of the GK Enchanted Farm
Always ready to help, Fabien is one of the most generous person we know!
From France, he decided to fly to the Philippines in 2011 to learn more about social entrepreneurship. Looking for answers, we wanted to bring new ideas home. However, he fell in love with the Philippines and decided to join Gawad Kalinga's mission, to end poverty for 5 millions family by 2021!
Part of the team building of the Gawad Kalinga Enchanted Farm, he founded in 2014 his own social enterprise, BatangBayani International Inc, offering socially responsible toys Plush and Play providing livelihood opportunities for women in the countryside.
President | School Directress
Educator, toy-maker, and social entrepreneur, that’s Ainee! With a Bachelor’s Degree in Family Life and Child Development from the University of The Philippines, Ainee’s creativity, passion, and sunny personality aid in developing young minds and creating developmentally-appropriate learning materials.
In October 2012, she joined the Batang Bayani International Inc. and helped create one of a kind plush toys that showcase the abundant resources of our land as well as the craftsmanship and ingenuity of Filipino mothers. Ainee’s dedication and perseverance helps her overcome any challenge and lets her give a hundred and one percent in everything she does!
Coco Castro Cruz
Co-Founder | Hands on mother | Filipina nation-builder
Coco has been with Gawad Kalinga since 2005, first discovering mission work through GK-Ateneo’s Team Gabaldon. She has then been involved with various social work/activities, and more recently businesses that help uplift the lives of the poor.
Aside from Plush and Play, she is also a co-founder of Joomajam, a social enterprise that makes learning fun through music and is currently part of her family’s manufacturing business.
More importantly, she’s mother to Sining and Diwa and wife to Loleng (Mark Lawrence). Having two kids and a couple of nephews and nieces makes the Cruz household a small lab incubator for fun, educational, safe and age appropriate products for kids.
Co-founder | Architect | Designer
Howard started as an in-house designer for the Gawad Kalinga Enchanted Farm back when he was an architecture student in 2012.
He collaborated with Fabien to create safe and sustainable educational toys that could also provide livelihood for the moms of the community. He had been onboard with the Batang Bayani Team from brainstorming to execution of ideas, especially in the design area for the toys.
Co-founder | Preschool teacher | Child’s rights advocate
Now in her 5th year of teaching, Lanie has seen the role of play in a child’s holistic development. Being a part of the Batang Bayani International Inc. provided her with an opportunity to continue her desire to contribute in creating meaningful experiences for children through toys and educational materials. Toys that are safe and developmentally-appropriate.
She also believes in the importance of molding a generation of young heroes with the help of the talented moms in the community.
